The NJSIAA (New Jersey Interscholastic Athletic Association), which regulates school sports, has released its initial guidelines for a fall season return to high school athletic and marching band activities.
Garfield School District will follow NJSIAA protocols and District Road Back Protocols.

Clearly communicate with the coaches, trainer, school athletic nurse, and other stakeholders the guidelines for returning to play.

All activities will include health checks and social distancing implemented whenever possible.

Basketball and bowling will be finished on March 5, 2021.

Wrestling and volleyball will begin on March 8, 2021.

Wrestling will be in the new gym and volleyball in the old gym.

Competitions are scheduled to begin on March 16, 2021 and end on April 24, 2021.

All coaches will continue to follow the established Covid protocols.

Garfield will participate given that Covid positive numbers have not spiked and remain consistently low throughout the schools and community.

Winter one season is basketball and bowling from 1-24/3-6.

Winter two Swimming and Indoor Track 2-8/3-27

Winter Three Wrestling and Girls Volleyball 3-8/4-24

Spring Season Boys Volleyball, Baseball, Softball Track, Boys Tennis 3-26/5-23.

All games are limited, and travel is cut down.

Teams are practicing in pods and PPE available to coaches' workers, and student athletes.
